Youri Tielemans is keen to join a Champions League club if he leaves Leicester with Arsenal watching the midfielder closely ahead of a possible summer move.

The Foxes are prepared to sell Tielemans, 25, at the end of the season as he has only one year left on his contract, meaning he could seal a free transfer to a foreign club from January 2023.

After two excellent seasons, Tielemans’ form has been extremely patchy this term but he remains an attractive prospect to Leicester’s rivals, especially as his contract situation is likely to lower the price.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers reiterated his desire to make changes to his squad at the end of the campaign and the club will listen to offers for fringe players like Caglar Soyuncu, Ayoze Perez and Hamza Choudhury as well as Dennis Praet, who is currently on loan at Torino.

Rodgers said: ‘I said it needs a healthy shake up which most clubs always do. Keep your core players and add quality.

‘We’ve got certain player profiles we need to make the team improve.

‘We don’t have masses of money but we want to bring in players who are ready to adapt with how we want to work and players who are very offence minded and aggressive. I’m sure when they come in they can improve.

‘There are key areas that we want to improve but I wouldn’t want to put a number on it.

‘Things can change and the number might increase or if the budget isn’t’ there it could decrease.’
