Sheffield United are reportedly asking for £22.2million this summer, if they are to sell midfielder Sander Berge. The Blades would be looking to recoup the club-record fee they shelled out to Belgian side Genk in January 2020, when they won the race for the highly-rated technician.
Chris Wilder’s side are still heavily invested in the battle to beat the drop, although their relegation looks imminent.
United have taken just 14 points from 28 matches this season, winning just four games in the Premier League.
Should they fail to secure survival, it’s likely that the club will have to make a number of pay-cuts if they drop back down to the Championship.
Berge is the club’s second highest-earner behind Phil Jagielka (£50,000-a-week) and nets a reported £32,600-a-week.

But his time at Bramall Lane could be cut short at the end of the season, with the Blades ready to offload the Norwegian who has suffered his fair share of fitness problems.
According to Jeunes Footeux, Arsenal and Tottenham are among the clubs who would be interested in signing the 23-year-old.
The same report adds that Wilder and the United hierarchy would be keen to get their money back (£22.2m) in order to agree to a sale.
Jurgen Klopp has also made it clear that he is a fan of the player in the past.

The future of Harry Winks remains unclear and the academy prospect may consider leaving in search of regular game time, with the midfielder set to miss out on England’s European Championship squad.
