Alphonso Davies accepts Man United ace Shaw is 'clear' of him now

Alphonso Davies joined Manchester United fans in singing the praises of Luke Shaw after the Bayern star agreed to claims the England international has surpassed him as the world’s best left back.

Davies is a popular figure on social media sharing app TikTok and the topic of Shaw came up in a recent live stream.

One of Davies’ TikTok followers commented that ‘Luke Shaw is clear’ (meaning he is better).

Davies has shone since joining Bayern but appeared to accept he is currently not at No 1

Davies replied by saying: ‘Yeah, I mean, he is, he’s a really good player!’

Shaw enjoyed a magnificent resurgence at United in the last 12 months which saw him work his way back into England contention.

The United left back shone on the international stage this summer too, netting England’s goal in the Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.

And Davies, who burst onto the scene with Bayern after leaving Canadian side Vancouver Whitecaps, appeared to accept that Shaw is currently the best in the business. 

Shaw was in fine form for Manchester United last season, where he created 101 chances

During a discussion on his official TikTok account, Davies added: ‘I just saw one that was like “Luke Shaw is clear”. 

‘What does that mean? Someone explain to me. I never really understood that – clear of what?’

He then read out a reply in the chat: ‘That means he’s better.

‘Ohhh! Ohh, OK, I get it now, it means he’s better. Yeah, I mean, he is, he’s a really good player!’ 

Shaw created 101 chances in just 48 starts for the Red Devils last season and scored a goal in the Euro 2020 final followed by three assists at the tournament.
