Allan Saint-Maximin has posted a hilarious tweet in reaction to the excitement from Newcastle United fans that the club is set to be taken over.
The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia are edging closer to finally completing their protracted takeover of the Magpies from Mike Ashley.
The sovereign wealth fund has come to an agreement with beIN Sport that will see the TV channel no longer barred in the Middle East country.
Saudi Arabia’s reversal of their ban of the Qatari-owned channel means that the final obstacle to a deal for Newcastle has now been removed, paving the way for Amanda Staveley’s group to take over.
It is set to bring an end to 14 years of Ashley’s ownership, which has frequently infuriated Magpies supporters.
The news that a path to a takeover is now clear has delighted Newcastle fans, with their club set to backed by an ownership group able to call on funds of more than £350billion.
Many are expecting the club to undergo a similar transformation to that of Manchester City after they were taken over by Sheikh Mansour.
It appears that star player Saint-Maximin is just as excited about the prospect of Newcastle getting new owners.
