Allan Saint-Maximin gifts Rolex watch to unsuspecting fan after opening day win

Allan Saint-Maximin was seen handing over a Rolex to an unsuspecting fan who was waiting to grab a photo and autograph from the player.

The Newcastle star helped his side to a 2-0 win over newly promoted Nottingham Forest at St James Park, and afterwards made one fan's day even better as he handed over an extremely expensive watch. The fan was seen waiting for the French winger to walk out of the stadium as he stood there with a French flag that had Saint-Maximin written across it.

The 25-year-old shared the video of him gifting the watch to the fan on his social media channels, with the lucky man who was given the watch tweeting about his joy. Steve Dutton wrote: "I was the person who was gifted the watch from ASM, I was totally speechless.

"I thought he was coming to sign autographs and have pictures taken with the kids. I’m still in shock, I can’t thank @asaintmaximin enough."

The player has given away an expensive watch before, Michael Urwin was at St James’ Park with his three sons to watch the team’s match against Brentford last year. The 55-year-old season ticket holder was minding his own business when Saint-Maximin shocked him by getting out of his car to present him with a generous present: a TAG Heuer Aquaracer watch.

He told The Chronicle in November last year: "For every home game we go down to the entrance where the players take in their cars, just hoping to get a picture or autograph. They don't normally stop these days because of COVID but on Saturday, Allan did.

"He got out of his car and came over to where I was standing and handed me a box and said 'This is for you'. I was shaking, to be honest with you, but he was pretty excited and was just saying 'Open it, open it!'"
