AC Milan are hopeful about their chances of securing the services of Chelsea duo Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori this summer.
Milan are plotting for a big summer after their city-rivals – Inter Milan – claimed their first scudetto in over a decade after pipping Juventus to the title, and the Rossoneri will look to end their own 10-year wait.
And, Giroud and Tomori, who spent the second half of the season on loan in Milan, are top of Stefano Pioli shopping list.
Giroud, who is a World Cup winner, is a "potential opportunity" according to Fabrizio Romano, and he also notes that Milan are confident about Tomori.
Speaking last month Pioli said: "We want to buy Tomori on a permanent deal from Chelsea.
"Our intention is clear and also Fikayo's decision [staying at Milan]. We'll see what happens at the end of the season."
And Tomori told Gazzetta Dello Sport he's happy in Italy: “I’m not the only one to decide my future.
"I have fun, I enjoy the moment, I’m happy to be here. I like Milan and I like Italy, I feel at home at AC Milan, but I honestly don’t think about the future."
Giroud, like Tomori, looks set to leave Stamford Bridge this month despite Thomas Tuchel – soon after his arrival – telling reporters: "He is a key figure, he has a huge impact in a most positive way that we can wish, and this is what I can say.
"So I am very happy that he is here, and from there, we will arrive at decisions, but it is too soon."
Giroud has bagged 11 goals this campaign, however, he was an unused substitute during their Champions League final victory against Manchester City.
The Frenchman is a known admirer of former Milan talisman Andriy Shevchenko, and that could hold the key for a move.
"Andriy Shevchenko, because he could score every kind of goal; left foot, right foot, head. He was really complete as a striker.
"Powerful, quick, intelligent. I had a few heroes: Jean-Pierre Papin, Marco van Basten but Shevchenko was my favourite."
