Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale channelled Martin Keown's infamous celebration after Manchester United's penalty miss in Saturday's Premier League clash.

The Gunners were leading 2-1 when Nuno Tavares gifted the away side a penalty with an unnecessary handball as he went up for a header. Both Arsenal fans and players had their hearts in their mouths when penalty 'specialist' Bruno Fernandes stepped up to potentially tie the game.

But to the surprise of the entire stadium, the Portuguese playmaker struck the post, sparking wild celebrations. And none celebrated it more emphatically than goalkeeper Ramsdale, who jumped up in the air and banged his fist.

The England goalkeeper then let out a roar in front of Fernandes in a manner highly similar to the way Gunners legend Keown once did against Man United in a famous game dubbed 'The Battle of Old Trafford'.

On that occasion back in the 2003/04 season, Arsenal secured a 0-0 draw through the skin of their teeth in what turned out to be their 'Invincible season'. After Keown gave away a penalty, Ruud van Nistelrooy stepped up and rattled the bar.

Who had the better celebration out of Keown and Ramsdale? Let us know in the comments section.

Keown, along with Ray Parlour and Lauren, launched an assault on the Dutch striker, who had got Patrick Vieira sent off earlier in the match. The defender resembled something out of a horror film as he screamed in Van Nistelrooy's face at full-time.

And the BT Sport commentators were also able to pick up on the similarities with Ramsdale's reaction.

Steve McManaman said: "See Ramsdale's celebration, wasn't it reminiscent of someone against Van Nistelrooy many moons ago?"

Arsenal's young guns went on to score a third and wrap up the game courtesy of a Granit Xhaka rocket. Their 3-1 victory was monumental in their quest for a top-four finish, with the club moving up to fourth in the table.
