Willie Rioli to face court for alleged drug possession

West Coast forward and 2018 premiership winner Willie Rioli will face court on Wednesday charged with allegedly possessing drugs.

Rioli will front a Darwin court charged with “possessing a schedule 2 dangerous drug in a quantity less than trafficable (under 50 grams) in a public place”.

He was set to be free to train with West Coast from June 20 and play AFL again from August 20 after serving a backdated two-year ban for tampering with a urine sample, for a drug test in 2019.

Rioli has not played since the 2019 elimination final against Essendon.
