Steele Sidebottom’s 300th game has ended before quarter-time, the Collingwood star subbed out early with a right knee injury.

The 32-year-old began brightly with four early disposals before hobbling from the Marvel Stadium surface and going straight to the rooms.

The Magpies subbed Sidebottom out of the clash with North Melbourne soon after, and confirmed an MCL injury on social media. Will Hoskin-Elliott replaced the milestone man.

“He’s done an MCL and will miss the rest of the game unfortunately. His 300th game so we were disappointed, but we’ll get the job done without him,” general manager of football Graham Wright said.

About 100 friends and family, including mother Linda, were in the stands to watch Sidebottom.

Collingwood kicked the only four goals of the opening quarter.

Sidebottom’s teammate Mason Cox and former Pie-turned-Roo Jaidyn Stephenson are also playing their 100th matches.
