NRL 2021 round three LIVE updates: Penrith Panthers v Melbourne Storm at BlueBet Stadium

Penrith’s defence has started on a good note

They are, in fact, yet to concede a point in 2020 but you would suspect Melbourne won’t leave without turning the scoreboard over tonight. But Papenhuyzen has been central to their attack and Kaufusi is a constant threat on the edges. They will be badly missed. Still, the Storm always play well with a point to prove and after most of the usual suspects went after them during the week after Kaufusi’s tackle, for which he was suspended for three matches. Cleary just runs everything for the Panthers and it will be interesting to see how Burton steps up. Always handy to have a good half up your sleeve, even if they’d rather be playing elsewhere.

Welcome to Thursday night football

Evening folks. Should be a decent one tonight to start round three. It’s the grand final replay between the Panthers and the Storm but both teams are missing KEY players. No Nathan Cleary for Penrith, no Felise Kaufusi or Ryan Papenhuyzen for the Storm. Matt Burton is a handy in for the Panthers, the reliable Nicho Hynes gets a run for the Storm with Darryn Schonig. Kick off is about 20 minutes away in Sydney’s wild west.
