Brooks’ season may be over after injuring calf at training

Luke Brooks may have played his last game of the season after suffering a calf injury at training on Wednesday.

The Wests Tigers playmaker will have scans on the injury to determine the extent of the damage, but initial estimates are that he could be sidelined for between four and six weeks.

Given that the Tigers’ season is effectively over – they sit in last place on the ladder and have no chance of qualifying for the finals – the club will likely err on the side of caution.

Brooks won’t travel with the team for Saturday’s clash against Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium.

Interim coach Brett Kimmorley hasn’t yet settled on a replacement, although Jock Madden is the favourite to take over as halfback.
