Punch-up at British GP as two men in hospital after ‘all hell breaks loose’

Two men were taken to hospital after all hell broke loose at Silverstone on Friday.
This weekend is the British Grand Prix as thousands flock to Silverstone to enjoy a weekend of racing and entertainment – though it turned sour for some. In just 15 minutes a brawl broke out that has ended up with two people in hospital and four being arrested as the day came to a close.
Northamptonshire Police confirmed that the fight happened between 5.45pm and 6pm on Friday, July 1, with a number of men getting caught up in the punch-up. As reported by the Northampton Chronicle, witnesses are believed to have seen "blood and ear bites".

A spokesperson posted on the police force's Facebook page: "Police officers are appealing for information following a fight at the Silverstone circuit which resulted in two men being taken to hospital.
"The incident happened yesterday evening (July 1) between 5.45pm and 6pm near the Ferris Wheel when there was an altercation between a number of men with two of them being taken to hospital as a result.

"Four men, aged 40, 35, 35, and 30, have been arrested in connection with this incident.
The area was very busy at the time of the incident and officers are appealing for anyone who may have any mobile phone footage of what happened or anyone who witnessed what took place, to please make contact with them, either by approaching one of our officers at the circuit or by calling 101. Incident number: 22000378649."
Ahead of the busy weekend of racing, Northamptonshire Police were forced to issue a warning to potential protesters that were rumoured to be making an appearance at the track. Police raised the issue that protestors might be trying to enter the race to cause disruption.
Northamptonshire and Silverstone police released a statement amid concerns about what could transpire ahead of the 2022 Formula 1 British Grand Prix following ‘intelligence [they] received that individuals may attempt to access the track.’
