Laura Woods savages fan who spots her guzzling drink on Monaco GP yacht
Laura Woods issued a savage response to somone who snapped her drinking booze on a Monaco GP yacht.
The talkSPORT presenter, 34, posted an initial photo of herself online, showing off her glass on a fancy yacht. “Good Afternoon Monaco #MonacoGP,” she posted. But someone posted a pixelated shot of the presenter from afar. “Right opposite me and my mates,” they wrote, along with laughing emojis. But Woods bit back, quipping: “Well hello and did you take this on a Nokia.”
Woods is known to have a quick-wit about her, which is one of the reasons she has built up such a big following on the radio. Earlier this month, she aimed a brutal dig at a Tottenham fan who claimed that Arsenal, the club she fondly supports, had just had the biggest collapse of all time.
Woods hit back after the Gunners were beaten by Newcastle 2-0 at St James’ Park, in what was a dominant performance by Eddie Howe’s side. The result left the door open for Spurs to come in and clinch top-four.
The ‘collapse’ was pointed out by a Lilywhites fan to Woods, who then went off. "It’s not the biggest collapse of all time, Nick,” she blasted. “And I don’t mind you calling me bias because I am an Arsenal fan.
Do you Arsenal will get top-four next season? Let us know in the comments section below
“I will say as well, at one point of the season which was months ago, we were saying if Arsenal get top four it’s an overachievement, I stand by exactly what I said then, 100 per cent."
Nick replied: "That’s really sad because it sounds like a small club mentality Laura."
But she took it a step further: "I think Nick, coming from a Spurs fan, you’d know exactly what a small club mentality is all about. Arsenal are trying to get back somewhere, and I think finishing fifth, even if that happens, again, you’re not going to get me to say we’ve collapsed.
“Yeah, totally, I don’t even mind saying it actually Nick, we bottled last night, totally bottled those three games in a row to the likes of Brighton, Crystal Palace, Southampton, absolutely bottled it. But you can’t get me to say they are completely collapsing this season and it’s been a terrible season because I don’t think it has.”
