Lando Norris to frustrate Lewis Hamilton as George Russell brutally snubbed
F1 fans believe that Lando Norris is the most likely driver to take a race win away from Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez this season with the 23-year-old Briton narrowly pipping legendary compatriot Lewis Hamilton to the honour. George Russell, meanwhile, was not fancied by Express Sport readers.
Red Bull are creating history in F1 right now with their run of successive race victories, and the team are still on track to secure an unthinkable clean sweep of Grand Prix wins this season. Should driver errors or reliability issues cost the Milton Keynes-based team their 100% record, the chasing pack are separated by very little.
With a host of talented drivers waiting to pick up the scraps should the Constructors’ Championship leaders drop the ball, we asked Express Sport readers which non-Red Bull driver will ascend to the top step of the podium next.

Among the 21,321 votes cast in the survey, Norris was the most commonly nominated driver, picking up 37% of the tally and placing himself narrowly ahead of Hamilton, who was backed by 33% of the audience. However, only a mere 4% of fans tipped the seven-time champion’s team-mate George Russell to beat out his two fellow British competitors.
Charles Leclerc was voted the next most likely driver to experience a Grand Prix triumph after Norris and Hamilton, picking up 15% of the votes.
Ferrari’s golden boy has claimed two of the three poles not won by Verstappen and Perez this season, but with no wins to his name, the qualifying master has now converted just four of his 20 career pole positions to victory.

Oscar Piastri, who briefly led the field during the sprint race in Belgium prior to the summer break, was backed by 11% to beat his rivals to the top step of the podium and cap off his immense rookie season with a win.
While Russell wasn’t fancied by the fans, the 25-year-old Briton was actually the most recent non-Red Bull winner in F1, capping off a Mercedes 1-2 with his maiden Grand Prix victory following a commanding performance in Brazil at Interlagos last November.
Norris’ position at the top of the polls demonstrates the high regard in which he is held by neutral fans, as well as by members of the paddock, with the Bristol-born driver seen as a potential future world champion and a strong long-term option for both Red Bull and Mercedes after his stint with McLaren comes to an end.
