Geri Horner sent a message to Red Bull star Max Verstappen following his dramatic Formula One championship win in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. The pop star – who is the wife of Red Bull boss Christian Horner – took to social media to congratulate both her husband and driver Verstappen on their landmark victory.
Alongside a selfie with the 24-year-old world champion Geri wrote on her instagram: “Congratulations. @maxverstappen1 @christianhorner @redbullracing #nevergiveup,”
The former spice girl then went on to post two photos with husband Christian with the caption: “So proud of you @christianhorner @redbullracing.”
Verstappen’s victory was a controversial one and Mercedes filed reports to the FIA following the race.

The Dutchman’s title rival Lewis Hamilton was the man who led the majority of the race after pipping Verstappen at the beginning of the race despite starting second, and even held a nearly 12-second advantage with six laps to go.
However, when the title race seemed to be dead and buried, and heading the way of the Englishman a crash from the lowly Nicholas Latifi ensured a safety car was deployed, bunching the field back together.
The controversy then continued as the FIA race director Michael Masi allowed of the lapped cars that stood between Hamilton and Verstappen to pass, to the anger and dismay of the Mercedes boss Toto Wolff.
That allowed the Dutchman to get right onto the tail of the seven-time world champion, as they played out the final lap as a title shoot-out which Verstappen prevailed in – no doubt thanks to his fresher tyres.

Following the drama the former Spice Girl appeared on Sky Sports F1 alongside her husband and the Red Bull chief, as they both gave their thoughts just moments after the chequered flag.
Geri said: “I mean, it is testimony to what a great team they are. Great strategy, Max is brilliant, Sergio Perez was amazing.
“And of course I think they have got the best Team Principal.”

The pop star was then asked how tough a year it had been for partner Christian.
She added: “Well, forgive me for being this honest, but I have to say, Christian told me this has been the toughest year he has ever experienced.
“But, they are such a good team who pull together.”
