George Russell chokes back tears in emotional first words after Singapore crash

George Russell was visibly emotional in his first interview after crashing out on the final lap of the Singapore Grand Prix as he pushed for a win in what ended up being a pulsating race.

“No words to be honest. Such a long race, physical race,” Russell said.

“I think we were half a cars length away from winning the race had I got past Lando.

“I think we could have got past Carlos on the last lap, but a momentary lapse of concentration.

“I feel sorry for the team.”
