Fans slam "spoilt child" Verstappen for calling race "unfair" – despite winning
Formula One fans have slammed "spoilt child" Max Verstappen for calling the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix unfair, despite winning the race.
Verstappen was heard complaining over his team radio during the final stages of Sunday's race before taking the chequered flag ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. Leclerc had appeared to close the gap on Verstappen during a yellow flag as he looked to regain the lead from the reigning world champion, but the Dutch driver was able to hold off his rival.
Fans, however, reacted angrily after hearing Verstappen say "that's so unfair" over the radio in response to Leclerc's attempts to overtake.
One fan tweeted: “‘That’s so unfair’ will be on Verstappen’s gravestone. Whine whine whine.”
Another added: “Has Max Verstappen always been such a whingey f***ing child? He’s becoming so unlikable.”
A third F1 fan also wrote: “Verstappen stop crying on the radio you spoilt child.”

Meanwhile, another added: “Verstappen yelling ‘that’s so unfair!’ over the radio is so rich.”
Another viewer also took to social media and tweeted: “Verstappen preaching about what is and isn’t unfair is the funniest thing I’ve heard today.”
Some fans took aim at Verstappen's comments in response to his "unfair" claims, despite the controversial manner of his victory at last season's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which saw him pip Lewis Hamilton to the world title.
After failing to finish last weekend's season opener in Bahrain, Verstappen was able to hold off Leclerc's late push to kickstart his title defence with victory in Jeddah on Sunday. Leclerc and his team-mate Carlos Sainz completed the podium in second and third, following up their one-two finish in Bahrain a week earlier.
As for Verstappen's fellow Red Bull driver Sergio Perez, the Mexican crossed the line in fourth, ahead of George Russell, having started the race on pole. Lewis Hamilton's struggles continued, although he was able to finish in the points with a 10th place finish after starting the race in 15th position on the grid.
