F1 star Vettel selling five special edition Ferrariss and could make £7.5m

F1 star Sebastian Vettel is selling off a whole garage of cars which could fetch £7.5m, including five special-edition Ferraris.

The German is preparing to team up with Aston Martin after ending his six-year stay with the Italian manufacturer.

It did not end on good terms on the track, with the 33-year-old finishing fifth in the Drivers’ Championship last season and getting his contract ended.

Vettel now appears to be removing any connection he has with Ferrari by selling off his five special-edition motors from them.

Vintage car specialist Tom Hartley Jr posted images on Instagram of eight cars being made available for sale “from the collection” of Vettel.

The most valuable offering is a 2016 LaFerrari, one of the fastest hybrid supercars on the market with an estimated top speed of 220mph.

Hamilton also owns one of these cars, with the Brit’s believed to be worth £2m, while AutoExpress value these models at £1.15m.

With just 490km on the clock, Vettel would be expected to get a good price on his hypercar.

Not far behind it is the 2004 Enzo, boasting a V12 engine to hit 0 to 60mph in 3.14 seconds.

One was sold at Sotheby’s the same year for £1.8m and another currently on AutoTrader at £1.95.

With the dealer describing this model as “the finest example offered for sale”, a similar price can be expected.

Vettel is also putting one of the most recognisable Ferraris up on the market – a 1996 F50.

An F50 sold in Sotheby’s Paris office two years ago for just under £1.5m and another is on sale in America for £1.8m.

And Vettel is already in business, with this car and the LaFerrari already being sold while the Enzo is POA.

The other two Ferraris are the 2016 F12tdf [£750,000], a grand tourer that can reach 769bph, and 458 Speciale [£350,000], hitting 60mph in three seconds flat.

While the rest of the offering is made up of a 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series [£275,000], 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG [£175.000] and a 2002 BMW Z8 Roadster [£175,000].

Adding up these costs with the predicted costs of the three Ferraris could see Vettel take home just under £7.5m from the sale.
