F1 glamour girl in leather dress got up close with Jarno Trulli at Austrian GP

F1 driver Jarno Trulli didn't know where to look when a leather-clad glamour girl got up close to him at the 2001 Austrian Grand Prix.

Trulli, who competed in 256 F1 races from 1997 to 2011, found himself in an awkward position in the Jordan garage before the second free practice session in Spielberg just over two decades ago. Wearing sunglasses and touching the side of his bright yellow car, Trulli didn't seem to know what to do as the gorgeous model stood in front of him.

The beautiful blonde certainly didn't conform to health and safety standards as she paraded her figure around the garage in a tight leather jumpsuit, which we suspect would have been highly flammable.

Her presence didn't hinder Trulli's performance in qualifying as the Italian star clocked a solid time to put himself 5th on the grid for Sunday's race.

But things soon went awry during the race as the former Prost and Minardi star was disqualified for going through a red light at the exit of the pit lane.

Team-mate Heinz-Harald Frentzen fared even worse with his car failing to even make it off the grid for a Jordan team who had more than their fair share of run-ins with supermodels over the years.

Former lads' mag favourite Nell McAndrew wore a little less than her racing overalls during a raunchy photoshoot with the team in 2004.

Wearing nothing but a tiny yellow bikini that coincidentally matched the team's livery, McAndrew, who posed naked for Playboy in 1999, donned a variety of sexy poses on top of the chassis of the Jordan car.

While in 1998, reality TV star and former model Katie Price straddled one of Jordan's cars as a publicity stunt. 1996 F1 world champion Damon Hill also posed alongside Price, plus ex-page three girl Melinda Messenger.

Speaking in 2017 about the use of models to promote the team and the sport, former boss Jordan said: "Commercially it was a huge thing at the time. I was involved with Benson & Hedges. The idea was it should be fun. Motor racing is a very serious business, very commercial and it needs to have a very respectable return on the investment.

"But at the same time it also needed to show flair, excitement all of the other razzmatazz that goes with racing. That went out after a while and I often wonder why.

"It was certainly instrumental in us getting more coverage. We had all the major models at the time, they were so keen to get into the yellow swimsuits. Katie Price, she was the catalyst."
