NHL trade grades: Devils strike big in Meier deal … Sharks not so much

The NHL trade deadline is only four days away. And big deals are happening, with the Toronto Maple Leafs acquiring center Ryan O’Reilly, the New York Islanders trading for Bo Horvat, the New York Rangers bringing in Vladimir Tarasenko and the New Jersey Devils landing Timo Meier.

We’re breaking down and grading all of the biggest moves from now through the deadline.

Feb. 26: Jeannot to the Lightning, five picks and Foote to the Predators

The trade: The Lightning acquire forward Tanner Jeannot in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2023 draft, a fourth-round pick in the 2023 draft, a fifth-round pick in the 2023 draft, a second-round pick in the 2024 draft, a conditional first-round pick in the 2025 draft and defenseman Cal Foote.
