Altitude analyst Peter McNab’s cancer in remission, network announces – The Denver Post

Peter McNab, the longtime Avalanche color analyst with Altitude, said he was told by his doctor on Thursday that his cancer is in remission. He announced the good news pregame Friday on Altitude’s Twitter handle.

“You can only imagine my emotions yesterday and today, but as exciting as this is, the overwhelming emotion I have is gratitude,” McNab said in a statement. “Thank you for all the kind words and support these past few months. I can’t tell you how much this has meant to myself and the entire McNab family.”

McNab, 69, announced his fight with cancer on Sept. 29 before the NHL’s preseason. The former University of Denver standout who played 995 NHL games over 14 seasons was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in December. He stands 19th among Americans in NHL history with 813 points (363 goals).
