What time is the NFL game tonight? TV schedule, channel for Packers vs. Cardinals in Week 8
The time for the highly anticipated “Thursday Night Football” matchup between the Packers and Cardinals will be the same as all Thursday night games have been throughout the season.
The Packers and the Cardinals will kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET, or 6:20 p.m. local time in Glendale, Ariz. The Cardinals will host the Packers, who have posted a solid 6-1 record to start the season. Arizona has outdone them and is the lone unbeaten team remaining in the NFL at 7-0.
As is always the case, fans will want to keep an eye on the injury report heading into “Thursday Night Football.” Banged-up players can often have trouble getting ready for a short week, as we saw with Baker Mayfield in Week 7.
Week 8 doesn’t have quite as many major injuries as Week 7, however. Both Aaron Rodgers and Kyler Murray look poised to play in this contest and that should make this a very interesting battle. The winner will also greatly improve their chances of being the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
Below is everything to know about the TV schedule for the NFL Week 8 opener between the Packers and Cardinals, plus a look at the rest of the NFL schedule for this week.
What time is the NFL game tonight?
The Packers vs. Cardinals game will kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET. That’s the same time that all “Thursday Night Football” contests will begin for the 2021 NFL season. Pregame coverage of the event will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET on both NFL Network and Fox. NFL Network will also air “TNF First Look” on game day starting at 3 p.m. ET.
The Cardinals are the home team, so kick off will actually be at about 6:20 p.m. local time; most of Arizona operates on Mountain time. The Cardinals play in a stadium with a retractable roof, too, so rain won’t be factor, as it was for “Sunday Night Football” in Week 7.
Streamers will be able to watch the game via Amazon Prime or by using fuboTV, which comes with a seven-day free trial.
Meanwhile, viewers in Canada can watch the game on DAZN free with a 30-day trial.
What channel is ‘Thursday Night Football’ on tonight?
The channel for “Thursday Night Football” will not change for the rest of the 2021 NFL season. Both Fox and NFL Network will broadcast the game between the Packers and the Cardinals. The broadcasts are simulcasts, so they are identical.
The game will also be streamed on Amazon Prime with the same broadcast as both Fox and NFL Network. So, streamers will be able to catch the game there.
Most United States cable providers carry the NFL Network. It also is available via satellite provider DirecTV (channels 212 and 1212) and IPTV providers Verizon FiOS (channels 88 and 588) and Google Fiber (channel 2019).

Meanwhile, cord-cutters will have plenty of options to watch Packers vs. Cardinals. They are as follows.
NFL Week 8 schedule
The Packers and the Cardinals will kick off Week 8 of the 2021 NFL season in style. The game will feature two teams with a combined 13-1 record that serve as their respective division leaders and will likely be the best “Thursday Night Football” matchup of the season.
The other two prime-time games aren’t too shabby either. The NFC East-leading Cowboys will travel to take on the Vikings after the two teams were on bye in Week 7. Meanwhile, the 3-4 Chiefs will look to bounce back after another disappointing loss against the Giants. Kansas City lost by 24 in Week 8 while the Giants won by 22.
Of the main-slate matchups, the Titans-Colts and Buccaneers-Saints games will be the most important. Wins for the Bucs and Titans could give them significant edges in their divisional races. Losses would allow the second-place Colts and Saints to climb back into the race.
