Ebanie Bridges shares ‘clean skin’ throwback bikini snap from bodybuilding days

Ebanie Bridges has shared a "clean skin" throwback snap of her in a bikini from her bodybuilding days.

While the Blonde Bomber, 37, is IBF bantamweight world champion nowadays, she wasn't actually able to box when she started her fitness journey. Combat sports were illegal for women in her native Australia until 2008.

As a result, she worked as a ring girl while also competing as a bodybuilder. On Monday (November 20), she posted a picture to her Instagram story from 11 years ago to the day.

She was posing for the camera in a skimpy white bikini and notably had no tattoos, a stark contract to her current look. Bridges was also rocking abs as a result of her ripped physique.

Reflecting on her past career, she wrote "11 years ago… clean skin EB [eyes emoji]." Since then Bridges has been inked several times, with the left side of her body largely covered in various artwork.

She credits her bodybuilding exploits as part of the reason for her success in the boxing ring, telling talkSPORT last year: "I feel everything I've done in my life has led me to where I am now.

"From the age of five starting martial arts to where I am now, everything on the way has got me into combat sports. It's as if I was destined to be in boxing.

"I played football and from there I did bodybuilding, which even though it wasn't related to combat sports it built up so much strength in me which is still with me today in boxing, I have a lot of power.

"If I hadn't have done body building for the past 10 years, I might have looked like all the other girls that are just boxing and don't have that physicality, so that's something that's definitely helped me."

Fight fans will get to see Bridges return to the ring next month for her first fight in a year. She's facing fellow Aussie Avril Mathie at the Chase Center in San Francisco on December 9.
