No. 4 Cincinnati will look to boost their College Football Playoff rankings with a win in AAC Championship game against Houston.

Finishing an undefeated regular season with a 35-13 victory against East Carolina, the Bearcats (12-0) will look to advance higher in the College Football Playoff rankings as they prepare to host the Cougars (11-1). Quarterback Desmond Ridder reached 3,000 passing yards for the year during the victory against the Pirates, but threw a season-high two interceptions.

Coming off a 45-17 win against UConn to conclude the regular season, Houston will look to capitalize on any errors from Cincinnati’s offense. The Cougars’ defense recovered a fumble and held the Huskies to only 283 total yards last week. During Houston’s 31-24 victory against the Pirates on Oct. 23, the Cougars’ defense recovered three fumbles and held East Carolina to 82 rushing yards.

Quarterback Clayton Tune threw for 301 yards with four touchdowns against UConn. Wide receivers Jake Herslow made five catches for 111 yards with a touchdown and Jeremy Singleton made five catches for 100 yards with a touchdown. Although Cincinnati’s offense gave up two interceptions and a fumble during their victory against East Carolina last week, Houston could gain some offensive momentum in the air against the Bearcats.
