Vic Fangio expects Teddy Bridgewater to start at Cleveland Browns despite foot injury – The Denver Post

Broncos coach Vic Fangio expects quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to start Thursday night at Cleveland despite suffering a foot injury late in Sunday’s loss to Las Vegas.

The Broncos went inside this morning for their walk-through of the week and Bridgewater had a noticeable limp as he walked from the locker room to the fieldhouse.

“He was able to partake in the walk-through,” Fangio said. “Obviously, it wasn’t very strenuous.”

Asked if he believes Bridgewater will be ready to face the Browns, Fangio said: “I think so.”

Said Bridgewater: “I’m taking it one day at a time. Hitting it aggressively in the training room (with rehabilitation work).”

Bridgewater said he was injured on his four-yard touchdown pass to tight end Noah Fant with 1:12 remaining.

A replay showed Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby stepping on the top of Bridgewater’s foot while completing his pass rush.

“It kind of went numb right after that,” said Bridgewater, who stayed in the game for the final four plays after the Broncos recovered an onside kick.

Fangio said it would be an “all of the above,” decision on Bridgewater’s status between coach, player and the medical staff.

“Teddy’s a veteran and he’s a good guy to talk to about how he’s feeling,” Fangio said. “He’ll give you a straight and honest answer. Tomorrow, we’ll practice and move around a little bit more and maybe that will be a better indicator.”
