Thursday Night Football FanDuel Picks: NFL DFS lineup advice for Week 9 Jets-Colts single-game tournaments
Football can be a funny game. Last week, the Jets — with a backup quarterback and without their top wide receiver — took down the Bengals, who were riding high atop the AFC North. The Colts — and DFS players — are unlikely to overlook Gang Green on Thursday Night Football, though. Las Vegas sportsbooks paint an ugly picture for the Jets, but they still have a few ascending pieces we’re excited about for our Week 9 FanDuel single-game lineup.
Here are the key scoring settings to know for FanDuel single-gamers: The point total for the “MVP” is multiplied by 1.5, but he doesn’t cost any additional money like the “Captain” in DraftKings Showdown contests. FanDuel’s default scoring is half-point PPR and four-point passing TDs, and there are no bonuses for 100/300-yard games like on DraftKings.
FanDuel Single-Game DFS Picks: Jets vs. Colts
$60,000 budget, need at least one player from each team
MVP (1.5x points): RB Jonathan Taylor, Colts ($16,000)
Taylor remained on a roll in Week 8, turning 19 touches into 19.7 FanDuel points. The Colts opened as a two-touchdown favorite for this game at some sportsbooks, and they’re unlikely to be caught off guard like the Bengals last week. If this game gets out of hand, Taylor may be relieved by others in the backfield, but the opportunity for a monster performance is too good to pass up.
FLEX: WR Michael Pittman Jr., Colts ($13,000)
Pittman dominated targets in Week 8, earning a career-high 15 — the third time this season he’s seen at least 12 looks. His target spikes — and 24.8-percent share of the overall pie — were made possible at least in part by T.Y. Hilton’s absence. After suffering a concussion on Sunday, Hilton will miss Thursday night’s contest, leaving Pittman to dominate again in the passing game.

FLEX: RB Michael Carter, Jets ($13,000)
Wave goodbye to the three-headed backfield in New York. Carter has assumed the role of the Jets’ top running back, scoring double-digit FanDuel points in three straight weeks. He’s handled 31.8 percent of the offense’s touches, a percentage that is even higher over the past three weeks as he’s handled the rock 13, 19, and 24 times over that span.
FLEX: K Michael Badgley, Colts ($9,500)
The Colts attempt the fourth-most field goals per game (2.3) while the Jets force the most (3.0). Playing at home as heavy favorites, the Colts should have success moving the ball into enemy territory. If they can’t punctuate their drives with six, Badgley will be called upon to keep the number on their side of the scoreboard increasing. He’s a solid bet to surpass the 7.3 FD points he’s averaged in three games since being picked up by Indianapolis.
FLEX: WR Elijah Moore, Jets ($8,000)
Moore had his best game as a pro last week, and it’s probably not a coincidence that it came with backup Mike White under center. White will start again on Thursday, and the receiving corps may still be without lead receiver Corey Davis (hip). The Jets have started to put a little extra on Moore’s plate, deploying him as a runner in each of the last two games. It’s only two carries total, but he took one for a score, and it simply demonstrates heavier involvement in the offense.
