Rams transform Malibu mansion into awesome 2021 NFL Draft headquarters
Look out, Kliff Kingsbury. There’s a new monster NFL Draft headquarters in town.
The Rams have converted a 9,000-square-foot mansion in Malibu, Calif., into what is now known as the Rocket Mortgage Draft House. (Yes, there are even sponsors for the war rooms, apparently.) Los Angeles announced Monday that general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay will conduct 2021 NFL Draft operations out of the location from April 29 through May 1.
NFL MOCK DRAFT: Here’s what happens when we let “Madden” simulate the picks
“To complement the bold leadership of Les and coach McVay, we continue to push the envelope in how we operate and collaborate with our partners,” Rams vice president of partnership marketing Lexi VonderLieth said. “We are thrilled to work with Rocket Mortgage to build this stunning and first-of-its-kind draft headquarters and set the foundation for drafting a little differently for years to come.”
In a video shared from the team’s official Twitter account, the Rams offered an inside look at the Draft House. This may come as a shock, but it’s extremely nice. Hanging out by that pool area for the weekend definitely wouldn’t suck.
“I mean, heck, the view? It’s unbelievable,” Snead said of the headquarters. “Hopefully I’m just as excited about the 2022 draft. Because wait until we see this spread and see this view, and you can’t help but draft well in an environment like this.”
Los Angeles does not possess a first-round pick in this year’s draft, but it does hold six overall picks, including one second-rounder and two third-rounders. In his latest mock draft, Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer has the Rams selecting Miami’s Quincy Roche and Ohio State’s Pete Werner to bolster their defense.
