Monday Night Football DraftKings Picks: NFL DFS lineup advice for Week 10 Rams-49ers tournaments
Week 10’s Monday Night Football finale features a pair of offensive-minded head coaches who, along with those in NFL DFS contests, will have a lot of talent at their disposal. Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers will try to stress a stout Rams defense, a task that will be more manageable with a near-full complement of weapons. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and his top three pass-catchers will all be active — something that hasn’t been the norm this season, adn on the other sideline, Sean McVay will try to do what the Browns weren’t able to accomplish — effectively utilize Odell Beckham Jr. Clearly, there are no shortage of potential picks for our DraftKings Showdown lineup.
Here are the key scoring settings for DraftKings Showdown contests: They’re full-point PPR and there are three-point bonuses for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain pick costs 1.5 times a player’s original price, but he also gets his point total multiplied by 1.5.
DraftKings Showdown Picks: Rams vs. 49ers
$50,000 budget, need at least one player from each team.
Captain (1.5x value, 1.5x points): RB Elijah Mitchell, 49ers ($9,600)
There are two things — aside from a friendly price — that have us excited enough about Mitchell to name him our captain. Not only is he off of the injury report, suggesting he’s completely over the rib injury that hampered him, but he also received a season-high five targets last week. He has DraftKings performances of 22.7, 19.7, and 19.4 points this season, so he’s capable of making a profitable contribution while leaving enough salary to build a strong lineup overall.
FLEX: WR Cooper Kupp, Rams ($12,000)
Kupp was slowed down to a degree in the Rams’ Week 9 loss to the Titans, but that “lackluster” performance still yielded 20.5 DK points. With Robert Woods (knee) out for the season, and Odell Beckham Jr. making his debut with the team, Kupp may be leaned on more heavily this week. Kupp has only failed to reach 10 targets in one contest, and another 10-plus looks will be in the cards on Monday night.
FLEX: TE George Kittle, 49ers ($7,800)
Kittle returned to action last week after a four-game absence to deliver a 6-101-1 effort on eight targets. With a game under his belt and a longer leash — he played a season-low 43 snaps last week — Kittle figures to be utilized heavily once again. One concern to consider is the presence of Jalen Ramsey, who has had success in his career slowing down top tight ends. However, the Niners have enough talent to keep the Rams honest on defense.
FLEX: WR Odell Beckham Jr., Rams ($7,400)
Week 10 was shaping up to be a little bit of an introductory game for Beckham, who signed with the Rams earlier this week. That changed when Woods went down with a season-ending knee injury. It’s unlikely that Matthew Stafford and Beckham have had time to develop a strong connection in such a short period of time, but Sean McVay should be able to scheme up some high-quality looks for his new weapon and Stafford should be able to execute them.
FLEX: WR Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers ($6,600)
Aiyuk finally enjoyed a bit of a breakout game in Week 9 against the Cardinals, turning eight targets into a 6-89-1 line and 19.7 DraftKings points. Aiyuk’s turnaround had been brewing quietly for a couple of weeks, and if he’s truly back in the team’s good graces — we can appreciate if there’s lingering doubt — he should see another healthy workload alongside his fellow “YAC Bros.”
FLEX: WR Van Jefferson, Rams ($5,400)
Jefferson hasn’t received too much attention for his solid sophomore campaign, but with Woods out and Beckham getting his feet wet, he might see a few more opportunities to make his mark. He’s finished with double-digit DK points on four occasions and has received 20 targets over the past three weeks. He’s averaging 16.0 yards per grab and could inflict noticeable damage with another healthy dose of opportunities. For a low-priced “punt” play, Jefferson offers enticing upside.
