Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown and 7 other players who can win first Super Bowl ring in 2021

Two former Steelers are among the notable players who could get their first championship ring in Super Bowl 55.

Antonio Brown, who ranks second all time in receiving yards for the Steelers, plays for Tampa Bay. Le’Veon Bell, who ranks fourth all time in rushing yards for Pittsburgh, plays for Kansas City.

Those two are among the intriguing players that could win their first Super Bowl ring this weekend. Here is a closer look at those players:

Le’Veon Bell, RB, Chiefs

The Jets cut bell this season, and he resurfaced with the Chiefs. The veteran running back has played a bit role in Kansas City’s offensive machine with 254 rushing yards and two TDs, and he had just two carries in two playoff games. Bell is dealing with a knee injury, too, so an expanded role against Tampa Bay is uncertain.

Antonio Brown, WR, Buccaneers

Brown is expected to play in the Super Bowl after missing the NFC championship game. He missed the first eight games of the season for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. He totaled 45 receptions for 483 yards and four TDs as a role player in Tampa Bay’s offense, but he had just two catches for 11 yards in the regular-season matchup with the Chiefs.

Leonard Fournette, RB, Buccaneers

The Jaguars cut Fournette in September, but the former first-round pick made use of the opportunity with Tampa Bay. Fournette rushed for 367 yards and six TDs in the regular season, and he has scored a TD in each of Tampa Bay’s three playoff games en route to the Super Bowl. He figures to be a key role player in the matchup against the Chiefs.

Blaine Gabbert, QB, Buccaneers

Kansas City backup Chad Henne won a Super Bowl ring last season and made the game-clinching plays in place of Patrick Mahomes II in the AFC divisional playoffs. Gabbert is Tom Brady’s backup in Tampa Bay. The 2011 first-round pick has yet to take a snap in a postseason game.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Chiefs

Edwards-Helaire has a unique opportunity. He was part of a national championship team at LSU in his final college season, and now the first-round pick has a chance to be part of a Super Bowl championship team as a rookie. Several rookie have made an impact in the Super Bowl – and none better than Washington’s Timmy Smith in Super Bowl XXII. Edwards-Helaire has that opportunity in Kansas City.

Mike Remmers, T, Chiefs

Remmers, a veteran tackle, has played for nine different franchise since coming into the league as an undrafted free agent in 2012. Remmers’ role in Kansas City takes on even more importance with the loss of Eric Fisher in the AFC championship game.

Ndamukong Suh, DT, Buccaneers

Suh has notched 64.5 sacks in 11 NFL seasons, and he has become a valuable piece in Todd Bowles’ interior defense for the Bucs. Suh played for the Rams in Super Bowl LIII, so this yet another chance to get after Brady on the biggest stage.

LeSean McCoy, RB, Buccaneers

McCoy ranks 22nd all time on the NFL’s rushing list with 11,102 career yards. He’s taken on more of a mentorship role for Fournette and Ronald Jones II in Tampa Bay. He played in three snaps in the NFC playoffs, and this marks his eighth postseason game and first Super Bowl appearance.

Drew Stanton, QB, Buccaneers

Stanton is on Tampa Bay’s practice squad – and he played under Bruce Arians in Arizona. Stanton likely won’t be active for the game, but the veteran quarterback has bounced around the league since 2007.
