The 55th edition of the of the Super Bowl promises to be another classic showdown. On one side there is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who will be first time to feature in their showpiece in their home stadium. They also boast Tom Brady in their ranks, with the 43-year-old quarterback playing his way back into the Super Bowl in just his first season in Tampa.

On the other side there is the all-action Kansas City Chiefs, coached by Andy Reid with Patrick Mahomes playing a starring role as quarterback.

The Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year with a 31-20 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

They are now bidding to become the first team to win back-to-back titles since Brady’s Patriots in 2004 and 2005.

Super Bowl 2021: How long is the match?

The game is due to start at 11.30pm in the UK, which is 6.30pm ET.

According to a 2017 study by The Verge, the Super Bowl takes an average of three hours and 44 minutes to complete.

The Super Bowl is longer than traditional NFL games due to the half-time show and additional advert breaks.

Half-time comes after the game’s first two 15-minute quarters have been completed.

It’s hard to say exactly what time this will be as it depends on how the game unfolds.

This year, the famous half-time show will be performed by Canadian singer The Weeknd.

Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium holds a capacity of 65,890, but for this game there will be a crowd of just 25,000.

This also includes 7,500 vaccinated healthcare workers, who have been given free tickets.
