Fantasy Injury Updates: Are Calvin Ridley, Kareem Hunt, Logan Thomas, more coming off IR in Week 12?

Calvin Ridley, Kareem Hunt, Logan Thomas, DeVante Parker, and Will Fuller are all on IR (or reserve/NFI list, in Ridley’s case), and some have better outlooks heading into Week 12. Each has turned in at least top-24 finishes at their positions in a season, so Week 12 start ’em, sit ’em decisions and rankings will be affected in all leagues based on their statuses. Get the latest injury updates below as you prepare for a pivotal fantasy week.

Week 12: Best Waiver Pickups

Is Calvin Ridley playing Week 12?

Arthur Smith said Monday afternoon that he did not have an update on Ridley (personal), which probably means the star receiver going to remain on the reserve/NFI list. If healthy, Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle), Kyle Pitts, and Russell Gage should continue to operate as the Falcons’ top pass-catchers.

All three have potential fantasy value heading into a Week 12 matchup with Jacksonville, with Patterson and Pitts serving as must-starts and Gage as a boom-or-bust WR3/flex in PPR leagues.

WEEK 12 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Kareem Hunt injury update

Hunt (calf) was close to playing last week, and the Browns are “hopeful” he’ll take the field against the Ravens in Week 12. All indications points toward him returning, but we’ll just have to wait and see until there is an official word.

Heading into Week 11, Baltimore gave up the 11th-most fantasy points per game to fantasy RBs, so there should be plenty of work on the table for Hunt behind Chubb. Hunt is our RB25 in standard and PPR leagues.

WEEK 12 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Logan Thomas injury update

Thomas (hamstring) is expected to return to practice this week, so we could finally see him on the field after rumors of a return for the past few weeks. We think Thomas has top-six upside in PPR leagues at tight end, but we’re also willing to watch him play and see how he looks. If he’s available in your leagues, pick him up, but we don’t blame you if you keep him on the bench this week against Seattle.

Seattle is solid against fantasy tight ends, so we rank Thomas as just the TE17 in standard and TE16 in PPR leagues. His upside is still a top-five play this week, but we’re going to limit expectations in his first game back in two months.

DeVante Parker & Will Fuller injury update

Brian Flores is not sure whether or not Parker (hamstring) and/or Fuller (finger) will be available this week, and without any real information, we won’t speculate on either. If either does play, the matchup with Carolina is not attractive. If you’re needing to play one of them upon their return, Parker does have a decent PPR ceiling and Fuller should be a boom-or-bust guy like we’ve seen in the past. We’re not worried about Fuller’s injury because obviously his speed shouldn’t be affected. Parker’s hamstring could limit him, though.

At the end of the day, both guys would probably be ranked outside the top 36 and be viewed as mere flex options.
