Beijing 2022 officially kicked off on Friday with a spectacular opening ceremony and Great Britain are hoping to beat their record haul at a Winter Olympics. BOA and UK Sport have five medals in sight with the potential for as many as seven.

Brad Hall (bobsleigh), Charlotte Bankes (snowboarding) and Bruce Mouat (curling) are just a few names in with a great chance of a medal at the Winter Olympics.

Montell Douglas (bobsleigh) will also become the first woman to represent Great Britain at both the summer and winter Olympics having ran in the 100m-sprint back in 2008.

More success could be had in the skeleton too with Laura Deas set to take over the mantle from Lizzy Yarnold.

The Winter Olympics are a time for sports fans to tune in and watch some events they would otherwise have little to no access to.

Shaun White is one of the superstars of the Winter Olympics and is set to put on another show in snowboarding with Chloe Kim and Ester Ledecka among the other box-office names competing.

Norway topped the table in 2018 with a tally of 39 medals in total, 14 of which were gold.

Events such as speed-skating, bobsleigh, alpine skiing and of course the famous ski jump have left sports fans glued to their screens over the years and the 2022 Games will be no different.

Express Sport provides live updates throughout the Winter Olympics on every gold medal.
