Tom Brady and Drew Brees in emotional chat as NFL legends embrace on field

Tom Brady and Drew Brees expressed their admiration for each other as the two NFL legends embraced at the end of their Divisional round clash.

Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers progressed into the Championship round as they beat New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

It’s potentially the last time the two quarterbacks meet with many predicting Brees will call time on his career.

Both players are over 40, though are among the greatest to have ever played the game and clearly have a lot of respect for each other.

They embraced following the end of Sunday’s match, with Brady saying to Brees: “Love you, man. You’re awesome.”

The Saints star responded in similar fashion before Brady, 43, told Brees he will “be in touch”.

Footage showed the two meeting again after the clash with their families joining them on the field.

On his NFL future, Brees said: “I would never regret it. Never. No complaints, no regrets.

“I’ve always tried to play this game with a great respect and a great reverence for it, and I appreciate all that this game has given to me.

“There are obviously so many incredible memories and so many incredible relationships that have come as a result of playing this game.

“You find out so much about yourself and you have to fight through so much when you play this game.

“And I’d say this season I probably had to fight through more than I’ve ever had to in any other season in my career, from injury to all the Covid stuff, to just crazy circumstances. And it was worth every moment of it. Absolutely.

“I’m going to give myself an opportunity to think about the season, think about a lot of things just like I did last year and make a decision.”
