Nuggets on pace for NBA’s lowest local TV ratings in 15 years, report says – The Denver Post
The Nuggets are on pace this season to have the NBA’s worst local TV ratings in more than a decade, according to a report in the Sports Business Journal.
The long-running Comcast blackout of games broadcast by Altitude, a Kroenke-owned regional sports network, has resulted in a 0.19 rating in the Denver market. SBJ reporter John Ourand said it is the lowest recorded number in the NBA for at least the past 15 years.
In contrast, here are the Top 5 local markets with the highest local TV ratings this season through Feb. 16: Golden State Warriors/NBC Sports Bay Area (7.63), Cleveland Cavaliers/Bally Sports Ohio (3.74), Philadelphia 76ers (2.72), Milwaukee Bucks/Bally Sports Wisconsin (2.61) and the Chicago Bulls/NBC Sports Chicago (2.52).
Rounding out the Bottom 5 local markets: Charlotte Hornets/Bally Sports Southeast (0.84), Brooklyn Nets/YES (0.72), Los Angeles Clippers/Bally Sports Southern California (0.55), Orlando Magic/Bally Sports Florida (0.27) and the Nuggets/Altitude (0.19).
Discussions between Altitude and Comcast toward a contract resolution are ongoing after a Wednesday settlement conference between legal teams in their antitrust lawsuit.
