New deal sets Jake Paul up for MMA debut and he’ll head super-fight PPV division

Jake Paul is set to make his MMA debut after signing with the Professional Fighters League – where he will fight in the new division of Super Fight.

Paul will fight in the promotion, as well as being handed the title of "head of fighter advocacy". And the influencer-turned-boxer's division, the Super Fight, is meant to attract fighters based on draw rather than titles at an established weight class.

Fighters in the Super Fight division will earn at least 50 per cent of the pay-per-view revenue. And bouts will be split between ESPN and DAZN for fans to stream.

Paul has been very vocal about PFL's biggest rivals, the UFC.

The internet personality even dropped a diss track on UFC president Dana White, on his YouTube page – where he demanded he pays his fighters properly. Paul said after signing for the PFL: "I will personally make sure that the PFL is the best place in the world for fighters.

"I have been trying to increase fighter pay for all worldwide, and with the launch of this PPV super fight division, our fighters will receive at least 50% of the revenue.

"It is a true 50/50 partnership with fighters which still allows them to be individuals and monetize their own sponsorship deals which isn't allowed in the UFC, where you have to do what you are told, wear what you are told and promote what you are told."

Paul has been very successful in his fighting career – and he remains undefeated in the boxing ring.
