"The best part of this team is that we take care of each other," said Williams in a deep voice impersonating the superhero. Team-mate Jayson Tatum then interrupted the interview asking "What the f*** are you doing?"
Not deterred Williams continued to answer questions in Batman character also impersonating the superhero's voice. When asked how the Celtics felt after securing the win? Williams answered: “We kept Boston safe.”
Another reporter asked why the second unit was playing so well? Williams added: “We’re just as good in the lights as we are in the darkness. It’s the best to have two guys, (Tatum), Green Lantern (Jaylen Brown), do our best job as a league to not only keep this team secure, but this city safe."
Williams was also questioned about the Boston defence forcing teams to take midrange shots. The NBA star stayed true to his character and said: “As much as we can, we try to prevent as much crime as possible. The crime to us is on the 3-point line and then layups, so whenever we can, we try and funnel everything into the team that we are.
“We protect each other and in the midrange, no one scores. No one.”
Williams was the only Celtics star who dressed in Halloween costume and replicated his superhero persona on the court during another impressive performance.
