Golf rebel Mickelson’s net worth could buy NBA team, mega-mansion and car fleet
There's not much that LIV golf rebel Phil Mickelson can't buy with his colossal net worth.
The 52-year old has racked up a staggering $400million(£321m) during his years on the green, according to sportskeeda. And he earned $91m of that amount in career prize money.
The American's bank balance is worth even more now following the alleged $200m that he was reportedly offered upon joining LIV golf, the Saudi-backed golf league in 2021. And Mickelson's coffers will be filled once again if he manages to win the Masters tournament this week.

But as it stands, the World No2 has enough in the kitty to buy the world's most expensive home, a French chateau purchased by Newcastle owner Mohammed Bin Salman, which set him back £230m. And he'll still have enough left over to buy the Charlotte Hornets, owned by Michael Jordan, who spent $180m (£144.4m) on the NBA team, and Cristiano Ronaldo's super car fleet -worth a reported £17m.
Or if he didn't want the hassle of all Ron's cars, he could splurge slightly less on Floyd Mayweather's £15m diamond-encrusted watch. The Express reported Floyd's timepiece is comprised of 280-carat diamonds and was designed by Jacob & Co.
The aforementioned items would cost him £389-391m, leaving the multi-millionaire with £9-11m left to play with, which is more than enough to cash out on a few extra assets to keep himself entertained.

The French chateau was brought by Bin Salman in 2021, a year after he brought the Magpies. The Chateau Louis XIV is modelled on 17th-century French castles, and was built between 2008-11 in Louveciennes, close to Versailles, The Sun previously reported. It boasts two swimming pools, a nightclub, and even features an aquarium amongst a slew of other amenities.
Basketball legend Jordan cashed out on the Hornets in 2010, splashing $180m on them, but he's reportedly set to sell his majority stake in the side and could rake in a whopping $1.6billion from the deal. And Mickelson could watch the side play from the comfort of the chateau in France, where he'd have more than enough space to park Ronaldo's £17m car collection which is made up of a £200,000 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, an £8.5m Bugatti Centodieci, a £1.4m Ferrari Monza, plus a slew of other luxury motors.
Mickelson may of have had his wealth on his mind during the Masters Champions dinner, where he reportedly didn't speak. Ex-Masters winners Fuzzy Zoeller and Tommy Aaron revealed that Mickelson was on mute at the annual meal.
Zoeller said, via the Daily Mail: "Phil sat near the end of the table and kept to himself. He didn't speak at all," and Aaron added: "I wished him good luck, but I couldn't believe how quiet he was. Phil took a very low profile. He didn't say a word."
