Chang Sung Jung has already thrown his hat in the ring to replace Max Holloway

His manager Jason House told MMA Junkie: ‘KZ is more than willing to step in and fight for the title at UFC 272.

‘Looking at the rankings, he is the next highest-ranked fighter coming off a win and this is a fight many have talked about for quite a while now.

‘Given the opportunity, he will show that he’s the best in the world.’

It seems as though Volkanovski is up for the fight as he tweeted: ‘Let’s do this!!’

Jung has won three of his last four, losing a unanimous decision against Brian Ortega but overcoming Renato Moicano, Frankie Edgar and Dan Ige.

He is recovering from a shoulder injury but would be ready for March 5 for the main event, which takes place in T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

Dana White had only just announced the Holloway fight with Volkanovski on Tuesday but days later, the Hawaiian announced he is injured and has to withdraw.

Retired former two-weight champion Henry Cejudo tweeted: ‘Triple C to the rescue, Dana White you have my number.’

If Cejudo is given the fight, he would have the chance to become the first person to win a UFC belt in three different weight categories.

He has often spoken about his desire to return to make history but it remains to be seen whether the UFC will allow him to come back, only to walk away again straight afterwards.
