Inside Conor McGregor’s £2.6m Lamborghini yacht with nod to whiskey brand

Conor McGregor has purchased a brand new Lamborghini yacht, spending a reported £2.6million on the boat, which is the second in his collection.

The Irishman is developing a sizable portfolio of assets, including multiple properties, cars, and a Dublin pub, as well as business interests such as Proper 12 whiskey and August/McGregor clothing.

In his latest Instagram post to his 41m followers, he posted a picture of his newest yacht.

A collaboration between Lamborghini and Italian boat manufacturer Tecnomar, the boat has attracted plenty of attention due to its sleek design.

McGregor captioned the post: "My Lamborghini yacht is ready.”

The boat is 63-feet long, with two-bedrooms on board, according to a post by financial expert Joe Pomliano on social media.

When it hits the sea, McGregor's new yacht will operate at 4,000 horsepower with 70-mph top speed.

Photos from on deck show a sleek bedroom, and the boat's shiny exterior that is sure to draw eyes wherever he pulls into shore.

The yacht is one of just over 60 that were manufactured, and the Irishman specifically requested that he received the number twelve in honor of his Proper 12 whiskey.

McGregor is still a part owner of his whiskey company, but he stands to make a reported £500m+ from his sale of the majority share to Proximo Spirits.

He was named the richest athlete in the world earlier this year, having made a whopping £128million between May 1 of 2020 and the same date in 2021, beating out Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo by £35m and £43m respectively.

And in a record-breaking slant, he did it mostly through his endeavors outside of the octagon, where he was limited by the pandemic to only one fight against Dustin Poirier.

The Irishman reportedly made another eight figure sum for his recent trilogy bout with Poirier in Las Vegas earlier this month, which he lost after suffering an horrific leg break that cost him the fight.

He is likely to remain near the top of the richest athletes list next year due to the nature of his Proper 12 deal, as well as his many endorsements that include high-profile deals with big name brands.

McGregor engaged in campaigns with a number of big companies over the last year, including DraftKings, the video game Dystopia: Contest of Heroes and the lifestyle brand Roots of Fight.

He also participates in the UFC's gear sponsorship with Venum, and is paid handsomely to wear Monster Energy's logo on his shorts.

The former two-weight world champion, who also owns a fitness company called 'McGregor FAST', could easily retire from MMA given his wealth, as well as the severity of his injury sustained in the Poirier trilogy.

But he has insisted on returning to fighting once he has successfully recovered from his surgery, which sought to fix his broken tibia.

"Whats up fight fans, the Notorious here," McGregor said on Twitter immediately after his operation.

"Just out of the surgery room, everything went to plan, everything went perfect. I’m feeling tremendous.

"We got six weeks on a crutch now and then we begin to build back. I want to say thank you all the fans around the world for the messages of support, I hope you all enjoyed the show."
