Deontay Wilder has hyped up a potential two-fight deal with Francis Ngannou as the Bronze Bomber insisted he is willing to face the all-conquering mixed martial artist in the Octagon.
Ngannou, 36, is weighing up his options for a mega-money boxing bout after cutting ties with the UFC earlier this year, and has been linked with fights against Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Wilder.
The former UFC heavyweight champion recently signed a deal with MMA organisation PFL, where he is expected to set foot in the Smart Cage in 2024, after he competes in the ring.
Wilder was in attendance at PFL’s latest show in Atlanta, and while he acknowledged that his next fight – expected to be against Anthony Joshua – is ’99 percent’ certain, he said there is a real chance that an Ngannou fight could materialise.
‘At that specific date [in December], I’m not sure, but all things and anything are possible,’ Wilder told MMA Fighting.

‘Me and Francis have had discussions, we had meetings with both parties, as far as the team is concerned. So this is a real conversation that has been taking place, not only just amongst the combat … family, but amongst the teams as well, getting on the phone, everybody talking.
‘So this is something that can truly happen to him. So the best is yet to come overall. There’s so many things that I could say, so many things that I can try to put in words to say, but at the end of the day, we’ll see what happens when it happens.
‘That’s the best way I can [say it] to give people a peace of mind. These things are in discussion, but we’ll see what happens and when it happens, it’s gonna be amazing.’
Wilder also said he was willing to take Ngannou on in the cage, and even donned a pair of PFL gloves at the arena.
‘Hey Francis, you listening?’ Wilder said on the broadcast with a smile. ‘We discussed this before, and we’ve got many space and opportunity to discuss once more. I’m looking for a two-fight [deal] crossing over.’
