Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier have ensured there will be no last-minute hiccups as the pair each hit the scales on weight for Saturday night’s mammoth UFC 257 clash.
The lightweight contenders meet for a long-awaited rematch on Fight Island, Abu Dhabi, with McGregor defeating ‘Diamond’ on his way to the featherweight title back in 2014.
The stakes are high with the winner of Saturday’s main event expected to compete for the title next, with long-reigning champion Khabib Nurmagomedov announcing his retirement last year.

Poirier, 32, weighed in a pound over 155, but that is eligible for non-title fights
And having come face-to-face at Thursday’s press conference, the pair weighed in for the highly-anticipated lightweight bout.
Poirier appeared slightly unbalanced as he weighed in at 156 pounds, which is eligible for lightweight fights that are not for the title.
Meanwhile, a confident McGregor hit the scales at 155 pounds, before flexing and telling the smattering of reporters in the room: ‘That is 155 – championship weight’ in a clear dig at his rival.
The Irishman insists he will produce a ‘masterpiece’ in his rematch against Poirier in Abu Dhabi
The Irishman is out to prove he is still the man to be feared among the UFC lightweights, having not competed in the division since his defeat to Nurmagomedov in October 2018.
McGregor has claimed he will produce a ‘masterpiece’ and get the job done inside 60 seconds on Saturday night as he bids to avenge his defeat to the Dagestani in a sought-after rematch between the pair.
UFC supremo Dana White revealed last week that Nurmagomedov would consider a return if he is impressed by a ‘spectacular performance’ this weekend, but McGregor is sceptical over the prospect of the undefeated mauler returning to the octagon.

The Irishman is campaigning for a rematch against the newly-retired Khabib Nurmagomedov
‘It sounded like a no to me, which is what it is. He doesn’t want to get in there with me, that’s for damn sure, I can see it all over him,’ he told BT Sport.
‘And then if your man has the courage to step in… I don’t think he has the courage, he saw what happened to his team-mate Daniel Cormier. Daniel beat Stipe, wouldn’t give him the rematch, gave him the rematch and was beaten two times on the trot, that takes courage to do that.
‘Look at Diaz, a real fighter who stepped in straight away. If you’re so confident why not? What’s the problem? It’s a mental break and that’s what I feel happened.
‘I like the lightweight landscape at the minute. I’m not really focused on him, although I want that rematch of course, I’m not in the business of waiting around. After this, if negotiations start faltering to the end of the year… I want to go again.’
