Thyme Hill to miss Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival 2021

Thyme Hill has become the latest high-profile Cheltenham Festival absentee after he was found to have a muscle problem.

Philip Hobbs' charge was being prepared for a third clash with 2019 Paddy Power Stayers' Hurdle winner Paisley Park in the feature race on day three.

The non-runner announcement ahead of the scheduled March 18 clash came just after Energumene was ruled out of the Sporting Life Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices' Chase.

Trainer Philp Hobbs hopes Thyme Hill may be able to run at Aintree's Grand National meeting next month.

Paisley Park is now 15-8 with the sponsors for the Stayers' Hurdle on Thursday.
