Sandown best bets: Apprentice jockey Will Price looks poised to strike with stellar book of rides
Form analyst Jett Hatton jumps into the Sandown form and comes up with some genuine chances at the midweek meeting.
BEST BET
ZOUSONIC (R4, No. 1)
She turned in a good first-up run at Sandown behind the talented Faretti and should only improve off that. Beaten a nose in the Bendigo Guineas last year, so she’s well weighted with 58.8kg after Will Price’s claim in midweek company.
NEXT BEST
THE BIG EASY (R2, No. 4)
Has been running well without winning but can get the pointy end of the prize in this. His run at The Valley three back rated well and while he’s got barrier nine, Jye McNeil in the saddle should counter that.

VALUE BET
LASSITER (R9, No. 5)
Lightly raced mare that has been off the scene for a while but looked ready to go in two recent trials and her previous form reads well for this. Beat the likes of Group 1 winner Tofane and Varda during her first three starts and anything close to that would see her in the finish.

THE JOCKEY
WILL PRICE
Trainers are keen to make use of Will Price’s 2kg claim as the apprentice is set to receive plenty of good opportunities at Sandown.
ZOUSONIC (R4 No. 1 $3.80). FACEMASK (R5 No. 9 $8), NOBEL HEIGHTS (R7 No. 5 $4), CONVERGING (R8 No. 1 $17), THAT GIRL (R9 No. 11 $8)
