TAMWORTH

BEST BET

Race 7, No.4: LEVI’S STORM

Has raced here at home three times for two wins, one by six lengths the other by three lengths leading throughout each one.

NEXT BEST

Race 6, No.9: ANETHOLE

Had the flashing lights on when rocketed home to run a close third in a TAB Highway at Rosehill on June 5. One for one at this home track.

VALUE BET

Race 1, No.5: KANALAIDE

Should appreciate the extra metres off his last start second at Scone over 1300m in a ‘better race’.

QUADDIE

Race 5: 3,4,6,7

Race 6: 9

Race 7: 4

Race 8: 2,7,10,14

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW

Aaron Bullock passed the century of winners for the season the other day and is now chasing 107; his soon to be previous P.B.

MORUYA

BEST BET

Race 2, No.12: ONE FOR ANNA

Paul Murray trained filly on debut who ran good time when she won her 800m heat at Kembla 16-days ago. Market watch advised.

NEXT BEST

Race 6, No.6: DREAM RUNNER

X-factor gelding from Canberra who has won 3 from 5. Bled at the end of last campaign. Trial winner on June 7.

VALUE BET

Race 3, No.10: BLACKHILL KITTY

Lightly-raced local whose trial was anything but flash but her race-day record tells a better story.

THE INSIDE MAIL FOR TAMWORTH

RACE 5

Love Is In The Air is having her first run for Will Freedman on Friday having raced twice for Richard and Michael Freedman in April and May respectively. This is easier than those two and the trial was very good indeed. Barrier 1 is the icing on the cake. Knight’s Raptor is racing here at home for a third straight time. Comes through two pretty strong maidens too. Mooki Beauty took ground off a handy one at Quirindi Trained here.

Bet: Love Is In The Air to win

RACE 6

Anethole was impossible to miss when he flashed up late in that TAB Highway last start. It is worth remembering that the Cody Morgan trained son of Anise was only beaten three lengths by It’s Me on the Kosciuszko. Has won here at Tamworth. Mo’s Glory has a tidy record of 4 wins and 6 placings (5 of them seconds) from her 19 starts. Has a lovely draw. Dreaming For More ran really well on a Highway recently. Wet track is the query with her perhaps.

Bet: Anethole to win, exacta 9 to beat 5

RACE 7

Levi’s Storm would have taken some beating in Saturday’s TAB Highway but a decision was made early to scratch and run here on Showcase Day instead. The Cody Morgan-trained gelding is on a Tamworth hat-trick; those two wins coming with a combined margin of 9-lengths. Only little ‘issues’ are 1400m and the wet. Compare that to Oakfield Prince who has excellent wet track figures and has won up to 1500m. Charvet is well up to winning.

Bet: Levi’s Storm to win

RACE 8

Cody Morgan can cap a massive day for the stable with a win here to Aytobe, a cleverly named son of Bullet Train and Hitchike. This gelding has only won 1 from 17 but he has placed 8 times. Keep in mind too that he has only been with Morgan for his last two runs (both good) and a crackerjack trial at Scone 9-days ago. Stablemate Trumped Up has also only won 1 from 17 but in his case he has placed 9 times, one more than Aytobe. Has won here and is passable on wet ground. Okudah and the impressive maiden Innocent Party have obvious claims.

Bet: Aytobe to win, quinella 2,7

THE INSIDE MAIL FOR MORUYA

RACE 5

Jac The Great has been a bit costly to follow but take the punt out of it, and she has actually got a pretty admirable record of seven starts for two wins and four seconds. The Matthew Dale-trained mare was very dominant when she beat In De Sun Iwilcome at Wagga on June 11. Onwards and upward now perhaps. Stablemate I’m The Business has drawn favourably; the first time she drew OK for Dale and co – she won. Clearly Regal has won 2 races in 15 starts, those 2 wins were from his only 2 visits to Moruya.

Bet: Jac The Great to win

RACE 6

Dream Runner was huge odds when he won on debut then won again was unlucky in a Highway, won again then bled at Hawkesbury. He had the mandatory break and a bit longer it seems and has clearly come back well judged on his trial win at Goulburn on June 7. Mr Magical has raced 12 times winning 5 of them with 3 placings. Obviously, he has been very, very well placed by his trainer Jamie Stewart; same again here. Loves the slop. Ditto for Hay Bale who also lives here and excels on the home track, more so when it is wet.

Bet: Dream Runner to win, quinella 3,6

Brock Ryan will ride Accoy for the Joseph/Jones stable at Moruya. Photo: Getty ImagesSource:Getty Images

RACE 7

Accoy has lost 31 of her 34 starts but to be fair to her, she has always been a very pattern/good ride, luck, no track bias reliant horse. When things go her way, she can just reel off the big sectionals late and run over the top of them. Black Wand is another horse whose pattern has at times worked against him and fudged his record somewhat. As with Accoy, there is no doubt that Black Wand is talented enough to win this; just needs luck, maybe from box 1. Appetizing and Delude are a couple of six-year-olds with solid prospects.

Bet: Accoy to win

RACE 8

Huxton Creeper is a lightly-raced gelding whose record as it currently stands is four starts for a win and two thirds. Take note that he won on debut – easily, as it turned out, and beating the subsequently handy Stand Your Ground. Gives every impression that the 1300m, third-up, is perfect. The ‘best’ Flora Bel would go close here but even her biggest fans will have to wonder if we are going to see her ‘best’ again before she goes to stud? Kimberley Rain was placed in a heavy 8 in Kembla grade two starts ago.

Bet: Huxton Creeper to win, Flora Bel to place
