Nowra and Narromine: Blaike McDougall set to add to his impressive winning tally
Joe Pride and Blaike McDougall combine with our best bet of the day and confident the last start winner can get the job done again while at the Narromine meeting, transferred from Wellington, our best bet is set to Sizzle.
NOWRA
BEST BET
Race 6 No. 6: Miss Baltimore
Could not have been any more impressive or dominant when she won here on the heavy track at her first outing for Joe Pride. Follow up.
NEXT BEST
Race 2 No. 4: My Alma
Turned in an encouraging debut at Wagga 14-days ago over 1200m. Steps up to 1400m this time; that’s the key.
VALUE
Race 4 No. 9; Role Play
Was $15 into $11 first-up here and ran accordingly. Going to appreciate the extra 200m this time. Has the talent.
QUADDIE
Race 4: 1,9
Race 5: 3,5,8
Race 6: 2,6
Race 7: 1,13
JOCKEY TO FOLLOW
Blaike McDougall has more chances to add to his unparalleled number of winners in the soon to be ended 2020/21 season.

NARROMINE
BEST BET
Race 1 No. 12: Watch Me Sizzle
Watch Me Sizzle
Ran a big race when finishing the closest of seconds on the coveted Silver Goblet at Dubbo on the Heavy 10. Go well.
NEXT BEST
Race 2 No. 4: Dissenter
Last start winner on an upward trajectory still. No obvious reason why she won’t see out the 2400m.
VALUE
Race 4 No. 6: Wild Rocket
Paid the penalty for bad barriers for a portion of this campaign but has drawn OK for this and gets some weight relief.

RACE 4
Role Play is a stablemate to Kerry Parker’s George Ryder winner Think It Over who had a little hit out under Glen Boss in a Kembla trial last week. As for Role Play, she was $15 into $11 first-up in a 1200m Class 1 here on the Heavy 9 on July 2 and ran accordingly. Got back and attacked the line late. Fitter and the extra 200m can only assist. Ditto that for another Kembla-based filly in Yote Amo Maria. Legal Challenge has only won once in 14 starts but can figure with Blaike McDougall on.
Bet: Role Play win
RACE 5
Notions is nominated for Kensington on Wednesday and Kembla the day after. No matter where they decide to take her, she ought to run well. Trial was a lot better than it looks on paper! Flying Grace has placed at four of her seven starts, one of them was a second here at Nowra. Has a good draw and Blaike McDougall to guide her. Shewillbring could really bounce off her first-up run here behind the apparently above average Miss Baltimore. Well-bred filly Orreza has drawn to get her chance.
Bet: Notions win, Shewillbring place
RACE 6
Miss Baltimore is a very valuable filly just on pedigree alone being by Starspangledbanner out of a sister to Written Tycoon. The Joe Pride trained bay absolutely bolted in first-up here on the Heavy 9 on July 2. Can’t vouch for the depth of that particular maiden but she brained them. Alqaab has only won once in 21 starts but he has placed 5 times, four are seconds and he invariably runs quite well at Nowra. Foxie La Belle can maybe find her mojo again back to country grade. Blinkers first time too.
Bet: Miss Baltimore win, exacta 6 to beat 13
RACE 7
Edge Of Darkness is a son of So You Think and could fairly be described as a one-pacer. That said, at least he is one-paced from up the front on his races and sometimes that is all that is enough. Could well be the case today where he is well placed at the mile and gets through the slop. Marcada is the value. This Blake Fitzpatrick trained mare ran her best race on the current campaign at Goulburn 10-days ago. Gives the impression that the mile is what she wants now. Lady Kirkham has a fine set of numbers to play a role here.
Bet: Edge Of Darkness win, Marcada place
INSIDE MAIL – NARROMINE
RACE 4
Wild Rocket is trained at Narromine so it was a stroke of luck when the races were relocated from Wellington to her home track. She is a quality mare on her day and you could even make a sane case to say she was unlucky in the Country Championship Final at Randwick with the way it was run. Zariz foals are invariably pretty good wet-trackers, Mad As Zariz is a case in point having raced on heavy 5 times for 3 wins and 2 seconds. Reward Seeker has a lofty benchmark rating of 84 and is one for one on heavy, two from three first-up.
Bet: Wild Rocket win, box trifecta 1,4,6,7
RACE 5
Silverdeel, as her name suggests, is by Dundeel. As it stands, Silverdeel is yet to place in her three attempts at the mile but Gayna Williams has done her bit by granting her the ideal build up in the three runs that she has had her under her control. Charlie Flyer was an easy winner first-up in a maiden at Wellington. Was five weeks between runs and didn’t have it easy at Warren the next time out. Don’t discard. Newfangled Jill is back to mile today and from a very good draw with Ash Morgan sticking.
Bet: Silverdeel win, quinella 5,11, Daily Double 1st leg (11), 2nd leg (7)
RACE 6
Not many, if any, better bred horses racing today than Jervis who is by the Golden Slipper winner Vancouver out of stakes-winning mare Ygritte. Jervis has raced just five times, only one of them was for Garry Lunn and it was a distant third at Dubbo on June 4. Handy type on his best day and he will naturally strip a bit fitter for today’s assignment. Rylan’s Pick was fairly safe around the $20 when he won his debut start at Dubbo. Did it on raw ability only that day. Little Hela has done nothing wrong really but the wide draw is no help.
Bet: Jervis win, quinella 1,2
RACE 7
Alaskan Aura is a mostly consistent horse; in fact he has raced 22 times and won/placed at exactly half of them – that’s three wins and eight placings to be precise. Ken Dunbar knows him like the back of his hand and once again, the camp has got the great draw. Market watch advised on Fox On The Rocks. Has the talent and seems quite adept on soft tracks. Sniper Excels is a player as is Sestina who is a grand muddie and on a hat trick.
Bet: Alaskan Aura each-way
