The Cheltenham Festival has arrived, and day one is packed full of superstars to kick off a sensational four days of racing. Constitution Hill is the superstar today, with the sport hoping to see another legend born as he bids for glory in the Champion Hurdle.
The action gets underway at 1.30pm with the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, with Willie Mullins hoping to kick off the meeting with a winner with Facile Vega. The gelding underwhelmed last time out at Leopardstown but excuses for that run have surfaced and the market has been forgiving, making him a firm favourite.
The Arkle then follows proceedings, with El Fabiolo and Jonbon dominating the market. Frontrunning Dynamo Dysart will also be hoping to leave his mark on proceedings with the Irish dominating the field.
The Mares’ Hurdle also looks set to be a cracker, with reigning Champion Hurdle winner Honeysuckle making the switch to race against her own sex. Marie’s Rock, Brandy Love, Love Envoi and Epatante all have claims in what could be a superb spectacle. Stay tuned as Express Sport keeps you up to date with all the action from Cheltenham Festival…
