USA skipper Steve Stricker has claimed the feud between Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau will be a “non issue” at this Ryder Cup. “They are on board,” he said. The two American major winners have agreed to call a truce to their running rivalry to unite to face the Europeans.
And Stricker said: “It is a non-issue for me and the team. We got together a few weeks ago the six of us and we had conversations.
“They assured me it is not going to be an issue. I have no worries whatsoever. Will I pair them together? I don’t think so at this point but things can change.
“I think probably not but I had a dinner, they all showed up, we had great conversation, great talks. So I am really not seeing it as an issue at all. They are on board.”
Stricker reported Koepka, who pulled out of the Tour Championships with a wrist injury, had said he is “100%”.
And the US skipper said he had no concerns about his recent Golf Digest interview where Brooks called the Ryder Cup “odd” and “tough” and admitted he struggled to adopt a team ethic.

“I have talked to him about it,” Stricker added. “I have had experiences with Bryson over many of those teams. And the conversations I have had with him and what I have seen personally in the team room does not jive up with what I have read.
“I am not worried about Brooks. He has assured me that he is 100% all in for this team. He is ready to go and start playing.”
Stricker was joined in the opening captain’s press conference by Padraig Harrington after the European team crossed the Atlantic on a charter flight today.
No European fans will be allowed to follow them and the crowd in Wisconsin will be dominated by the Americans even more than usual.
But the Irishman said: “Our players play for the glory of this event. We want the noise, the buzz, the excitement. They wouldn’t want the alternative – having no fans is no fun.
“It is not like they have not seen it before. I think they will be pretty safe within the ropes! It is only golf.”
