The Ashes 2021-22 second Test, day four LIVE: Australia look to pile on the runs and set England a big target

Breaking COVID news from Adelaide Oval
A member of the England media pack has tested positive to COVID-19, creating complications for the coverage of the series.
A member of the BBC TMS team returned a positive result. This person interviewed England batsman Dawid Malan after play on Saturday night, but was wearing a mask, so there is no issue over the player’s participation in the game.
It does, however, have potential ramifications for broadcasters. Close contacts in South Australia are required to isolate for seven days and positive cases must isolate for 14 days.
Pat Cummins was sidelined from the second Test under these regulations. He has since returned home to Sydney.
The BBC and ABC teams have been told not to come to the ground. Some members of the media are being told to take COVID-19 tests.
The Adelaide Oval press centre has been cleaned since play finished on Saturday night.
Australia currently lead by 282 runs with two days remaining
I’d imagine if Australia can make 100 runs per session, they’d love to have 30 overs at England tonight. But if England can rip through Australia, they might be able to set up a run chase of 400 or so. Even that would be near impossible given what has transpired in their first three innings, but cricket is a funny game!
Starc reveals why he and Lyon didn’t sit with Cummins at dinner
‘Mitchell Starc has revealed how close Australia came to having their entire first-choice attack wiped out by a COVID scare, after he and Nathan Lyon kept the home side’s foot on England’s throat in the second Test.
This game could be in an entirely different shape if captain Pat Cummins had not brushed Starc and Lyon at dinner on Wednesday night.’

Hello and welcome
Good afternoon cricket fans,
Welcome to our day four live blog of the second Ashes Test between Australia and England.
The state of play is this: England need a miracle to win the Test, while Australia will be looking to bat into at least the second session before declaring and sending England into bat under lights.
England made their way to 2-150 in response to Australia’s first innings total of 9d-473 but collapsed in a big way. They were bowled out for 236.
Australia did not enforce the follow-on and made it to stumps on1-45 after David Warner was involved in a run-out with Marcus Harris.
