Pietersen and Vaughan react to England's shocking collapse against India

Kevin Pietersen and Michael Vaughan slammed England after they were bowled out for just 112 on day one of the third Test against India.

Pietersen told talkSPORT: ‘Batting in India is all about playing spin. I say nothing today which told me they are good enough to play spin in these conditions.

‘This is why India are so dominant at home and why England rarely win here. England are playing spinners poorly.

‘Joe Root should be teaching these guys how to play spin. The best players find a way. It’s not about attacking more, you need to go back to more deliveries on a pitch which is pretty slow.

‘You don’t need to attack or hit the boundaries, you need to shut up the fielders around the bat with a solid defence. It’s about picking length and manipulating the strike.’

Former England captain Vaughan added: ‘Virat Kohli won’t believe his luck. You lose the toss then bowl England out for 112.’
