A Ukrainian boxer on the undercard of Tyson Fury's fight with Derek Chisora walked to the ring in full military uniform amid his country's ongoing war with Russia.

Denys Berinchyk was taking on Yvan Mendy prior to the main event at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

His native Ukraine continue to be at war with Russia following Vladimir Putin's invasion of the country earlier this year.

And in homage to those protecting his homeland, Berinchyk strode to the ring in full military gear to cheers from those present in north London.

The 34-year-old, who won silver at the London 2012 Olympics, also received praise from those watching on from home.

"That's tough af [as f***]," one fan wrote. Another added: "As expected, Denys Berinchyk with a brilliant walk out performance."

Ukraine has a proud and storied boxing history, with legendary world heavyweight champion Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko hailing from the country.

Current heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk is also Ukrainian and all three have been involved in the fight against Russia which continues to have devastating consequences in their homeland.

The war is also wreaking havoc across the globe with rising energy prices a repercussion of the ongoing conflict.

In the ring, Berinchyk eased to a comfortable points victory over his opponent, to add the European lightweight title to his WBO International belt by unanimous decision.

Fury, meanwhile, is bidding for a third victory against Chisora after failing to strike a deal with Usyk or domestic rival Anthony Joshua.

Chisora enters the fight as a huge underdog but has promised not to take a backward step as he bids to pull off what would be one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.

He said: "On Saturday I'm going to go to war. There's no two ways about it. I want to take what's his and make it mine. Physically and mentally.

"I can guarantee you, you are going to love the whole show we are going to put up. It's not going to be stinker, it's going to be a great fight."
